The laboratory was created at the South Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI) named after M.I. Platov within the framework of the implementation of the mega-grant “Carbon-neutral technologies for recycling large-scale fuel energy waste with the production of functional geopolymer materials” of Resolution No. 220 of the Government of the Russian Federation.

The main goal of the laboratory is to develop carbon-neutral technologies for recycling large-tonnage fuel energy waste to obtain functional geopolymer materials.

Tasks of the laboratory:

• • study of the chemical, mineralogical, phase composition, structure and radiological properties of waste from mining, enrichment and combustion of solid coal fuels;

• • development of compositions and technological parameters for carbon-neutral synthesis of functional geopolymer materials based on waste from mining, enrichment and combustion of coal fuels;

• • study of the chemical and phase composition, physicochemical and technological properties, macro- and microstructure of the synthesized geopolymer materials;
•  
• • study of the dynamics of mass transfer, diffusion and immobilization of impurity elements in hardened geopolymer materials to identify, assess and minimize environmental risks;
•  
• • creation of a software and hardware complex for modeling and quantitative analysis of the structure of synthesized geopolymer materials;
•  
• • approbation of the developed technology and development of recommendations for its application at the enterprises of the real sector of the economy.
