The past week turned out to be quite busy - a cycle of scientific seminars in English was held, the permanent moderator of which was the head of the laboratory "Utilization of fuel and energy waste", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor E.A. Yatsenko. At the seminars, oral reports were heard on the production of geopolymer concretes (speaker - senior researcher of the laboratory, Ph.D. Goltsman B.M.), the use of foamed geopolymer materials as a promising thermal insulation (speaker - laboratory engineer Novikov Yu.V. ), the use of foamed geopolymer materials in road construction in the Arctic zone (speaker - laboratory engineer Kurdashov V.M.), the production of ceramic proppants based on drill cuttings - oil production waste (speaker - laboratory engineer Chumakov A.A.), development of foam glass materials for their use as thermal insulation in hydrogen storage tanks (speakers - laboratory engineers Izvarin A.I., Trofimov S.V., Kurdashov V.M.), technologies for applying enamel coatings to protect steel pipelines (speaker - senior laboratory researcher, Ph.D. D.A.V. Ryabova), art enamel technology (speaker - laboratory engineer V.D. Tkachenko).

An active discussion arose on the topics under consideration, during which Professor Chaudhary repeatedly showed interest and presented his proposals on the technological aspects of the synthesis of densely sintered and porous geopolymers. The seminars were accompanied by a demonstration of the functioning of existing equipment, discussion of synthesis methods and technological tests, as well as a study of the structure of synthesized materials.

The laboratory staff demonstrated to Professor Chaudhary the process of obtaining foamed geopolymer materials according to the developed author's technique, as well as the technology of artistic enameling of a silver item.

At the request of Professor Chaudhary, a meeting was also organized with the staff of the Department of Mechatronics and Hydropneumoautomatics. Head of the Department M.E. Shoshiashvili, associate professor T.N. Kruglova, assistant A.S. Vlasov demonstrated the scientific developments of his department.

Next week, a lecture by Professor Chaudhary is expected for post-graduate students of materials science specialties of the SRSPU (NPI) and the continuation of joint work on a mega-grant.
