ABOUT POLYMERS - FROM THE ELBRUS REGION

Scientists of the Faculty of Technology SRSPU (NPI) took part in the XIX International Scientific and Practical Conference “New polymer composite materials. Mikitaev Readings”, which was held at the Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after M.I. HM. Berbekov from 3 to 8 July.

The scientific event brought together more than 700 scientists who discussed a wide range of issues related to new polymers and composite materials based on them, original methods for their production, prospects and features of the use of polymers and composites in various fields of technology and industry.

On the first day of the conference, within the framework of the plenary session, 15 reports by leading scientists were made, in which an assessment of the general state of the industry was given, acute issues related to global needs for new materials and technologies, and ways to solve them were identified.

At the breakout sessions, highly specialized issues were discussed in a variety of areas.

The section “Methods for the study of polymers and composites based on them” was attended by representatives of the department “General Chemistry and Technology of Silicates”, employees of the laboratory “Fuel Energy Waste Recycling” - postgraduate student, engineer S.V. Trofimov with the report "Anionic surfactants in the technology of porous geopolymers" and master, engineer V.D. Tkachenko - "Physical and chemical properties of geopolymer materials based on ash and slag waste depending on the type of pore-forming additive." The reports contained the results of research conducted within the framework of the mega-grant "Carbon-neutral technologies for recycling large-tonnage fuel energy waste with the production of functional geopolymer materials" under Decree No. 220 of the Government of the Russian Federation and the RSF grant "Effective temperature-curing eco-geopolymers for road construction in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation based on waste combustion of solid fuels at local thermal power plants”.

Scientists from the Nanotechnologies and New Materials Research Institute also presented the results of their research to the professional community.

Thus, V.P. Kashparov with the report "Synthesis of new monomers and polymers of the furan series" and Kataria Yash Vijay with the report "Membranes for fuel cells based on new furan polymers". The research was carried out within the framework of a grant from the Russian Science Foundation.

Reports by D.S. Petrenko - "Polyester-urethane acrylate matrix based on renewable raw materials for hybrid composite materials" and V.A. Klushin "Electrically conductive composite materials for fuel cells" (as part of the work under the "Priority 2030" program) were presented in the section "Structure and properties of thermoplastics, elastomers, thermoplastics and composites based on them."

A.A. Petrenko made a presentation "Synthesis of polymeric membranes based on 5-HMF and its derivatives from renewable raw materials" in the section "Synthesis and modification of polymers".

Research by D.S. Petrenko and A.A. Petrenko are carried out as part of the work of the Research Laboratory "New composite and functional materials with special properties."

- This conference is the leading conference on polymers and composite materials, Viktor Klushin shared his impressions. - Since we take part annually and already for the fifth time, we are known, and our reports are of great interest to the participants of the conference.
