THE TASK OF THE LABORATORY IS A FUNDAMENTALLY NEW DEVELOPMENT

Professor Sandip Chaudhary, who became the scientific director of the international project with the participation of Novocherkassk Polytechnic, on November 29, acquainted his colleagues with the main areas of his scientific interests and the results of some studies. The scientist plans to invest all the previously accumulated professional experience in the work on the basis of a new laboratory created at SRSPU - "Utilization of fuel and energy waste" (ROTE).

The international project "Carbon-neutral technologies for processing large-tonnage fuel and energy waste to obtain functional geopolymer materials" is designed for 2022-2024 and is being implemented within the framework of Decree No. 220 of the Government of the Russian Federation. During this time, researchers must go through the entire cycle of creating a geopolymer - from a theoretical search for the optimal composition to implementation in production.

The project was conceived by our chemists and is being implemented jointly with a group of RGUPS scientists working in the field of geopolymers under the leadership of G.I. Lazarenko. In total, there are 31 specialists in the team of scientists, they plan to develop, test and bring to the stage of industrial application a method for creating heat-insulating materials using alkaline foaming technology. This is a fundamentally new development, a feature of which was the choice of the main raw material: scientists plan to use man-made waste (ash, slag) and by-products of coal mining.

Head of the laboratory "Utilization of fuel and energy waste" Professor E.A. Yatsenko also made a presentation in which she spoke about the areas of work of this laboratory.

The final moment of the small seminar was the signing ceremony of documents certifying the status of Professor Sandip Chaudhary as the scientific director of the international project.

From this moment, the active work of the ROTE laboratory begins, in the coming days seminars will be organized to help the study participants agree on their work plans.
